Alaskans Own is a Sitka based CSF (community supported fishery) that is a program of the member based organization Alaska Longline Fishermen's Association and nonprofit organization Alaska Sustainable Fisheries Trust (ASFT). Our Alaskans Own mission is to support our coastal communities, collaborate with our local fishermen, promote sustainable fishing practices, and provide you with high quality seafood. Sustainability is the driving practice in any CSF, in both the ecological and economic sense, which is why all of the profits from Alaskans Own goes directly towards the Fisheries Conservation Network (FCN).

FCN facilitates cooperative research between local fishermen and scientists in order to support fishery conservation research, create initiatives to keep fishing access rights local, and spearhead pilot projects in order to ensure the health and longevity of Alaskans fisheries.

Alaskans Own invests in the future of wild Alaskan fisheries and the fishing communities whose caring practices are vital to ocean health. The fishermen who participate in Alaskans Own adhere to a comprehensive Code of Conduct to ensure economic, social and environmental viability for their communities and the fisheries.

As a registered community supported fishery (CSF), all of our wild Alaskan seafood is caught locally by fishermen and flash frozen to ensure quality and longevity. Flash freezing, a process where our wild caught seafood is immediately frozen at -40°F, halting cellular degradation and ensuring high quality, sustainable seafood with a prolonged shelf life. There is this prevailing stereotype that fresh is better than frozen, however flash frozen has benefits for fishermen, fisheries, the environment, and most importantly the consumers.

We offer King Salmon, Halibut, Coho Salmon, Sablefish/Black Cod Tips, Rockfish, Spot Prawns, and Lingcod.
