About Us
Our small farm in Gustavus is called Pleasant View Farm because we can see Pleasant Island from our front windows. We currently have ducks, chickens, goats, dogs, and cats, and have also had turkeys, geese, and rabbits at various times. Right now we have two dairy goats. (We have had up to 6 at a time.) The goats provide milk for our family and the milk we use in our soap. We have been raising dairy goats for 8 years now and really enjoy them!
Practices
Pretty Nice Soap is specially handcrafted goat milk soap from Gustavus, Alaska. It is made in small batches in our kitchen with goat milk provided by our goats, Primrose and Ember. We use natural oils in our soap such as olive, coconut, and avocado. For the scents we use essential oil (sometimes fragrance oil). Goat milk soap is moisturizing for dry skin as it uses whole milk which includes the cream. Goat milk also contains many vitamins and minerals that are good for skin. The soap smells wonderful, lasts a long time, and is gentle on the skin!
